About the Author

Farhan Saeed joined the merchant navy in 1988 and was engaged in worldwide trading as a deck officer on general cargo ships, container vessels and passenger vessels with the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.

His marine studies, leading to Master Mariner qualification, have been undertaken at the Pakistan Marine Academy, the Australian Maritime College, and Fleetwood Nautical Campus in the UK. He obtained an M.Sc. in computer-based information systems in 2001 from the University of Sunderland, UK. After six years of teaching nautical science in Fleetwood Nautical Campus he has been engaged as Senior Lecturer in Maritime Operations at Liverpool John Moores University, UK, since 2008. He has recently completed Ph.D. research in the field of non-technical skills of deck officers.

This book is very poorly written by someone who clearly is not a professional author. Difficult to read through the bad grammar. I would have been disappointed had this book not been free. Really needs a professional to review the content.No way are you going to learn the material needed to pass the Linux+ in these 87 pages. Not a worthwhile read. A few snippets of conf files earns it 2 stars but just barely.

I bought the print edition. The English in this book is really bad. I suppose it serves as a rough outline for what to study, but I cannot understand what is being said. It is basically unreadable to me. Take a look at the other reviews on this page. If your shill detector throws a red flag, give this purchase a second thought.EDIT: I think there were more fake reviews previously, but it looks like they're gone now...

Like others, my thought is that the grammar is so bad that it is barely readable. There are points where I can't really understand what the author is trying to convey, and I have been using Linux for close to 20 years (off and on). Please, do NOT waste your time with this!

I didn't know what to expect with this book. I got the book after watching the video. I'm glad I did. I loved reading about this guys journey in the world of table tennis. He makes some really good points and observations that can translate to anyone on a mission to achieve something. I don't play table tennis and I don't think I ever will. I however am fascinated with learning how people motivate themselves. Anyhow it's a good quick read.

Extremely easy, useful and enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book for any amateur table tennis junkies trying to develop their game.Sam has put forth a very well written, and at times self deprecating, humorous tale packed full of great table tennis tips and insights. I could feel my game improving chapter by chapter. Haven't read anything else quite like it before.He also does a great job conveying the fears, embarrassment and challenges an adult player faces learning the game. This challenge, and Ben's website, helped me appreciate actually how many adults are going thru a similar journey to table tennis expertise. There is a lot of comfort in that.Thanks to Sam and Ben for the challenge and a wonderful book! Keep up all the great work!

This is the first book I have ever read front to back. Very insightful on what resources I was ignoring when i tried mastering something. I am currently mastering boxing and realized I should go to camps and see what others can teach me and not just my trainer.

A friend and I are starting a table tennis club at the school I teach at and this has become a good resource for us. There are other resources that we use.

I read the whole thing. I liked it.His reflections towards the end of the book are the most valuable part of the book.

It's a great read. I finished it in two days.
